It used to be that a patient would seek a prominent doctor solely on his reputation as a medical practitioner or his diagnosis skills.
Although the same criteria still holds true, a new factor that is also taken into consideration is the diagnosis equipment available at the hospital.
The increasingly important role of medical equipments gave rise to an equally important engineering field; Biomedical Engineering.
It’s the Biomedical Engineer that has to assure both the doctor and the technician of the reliability of a diagnostic machine and approve its fitness for use on patients.
Kuwait’s biomedical engineers realize this pivotal role and strive to utilize the latest cutting edge technology to provide the doctor with the best of bread tools in order to make his diagnosis or carry out a treatment procedure.
This lead to Kuwait taking a premium position among the region’s countries in the quality of its heath care programs.
I do fully agree with Engineer Ali’s article and hope for the biomedical engineers’ community in Kuwait to keep playing their key role in driving the health care to higher levels of quality.
